What does the UR mean in UR Church?

The UR stands for Upper Room. In the book of Acts we read about a group of people who were filled with the Holy Spirit while waiting in an upper room.

In the Upper Room God gave His people His Spirit to empower them with His love so they could bring change to the world, and that has never ceased. Believers demonstrate Gods love by being the message of Gods Love; it not just talk its about demonstrating it in our everyday lives. Everything Gods love touches increases in value. Both the carriers of Gods Love and the receivers of that love experience the value God places on people. A building cant carry Gods loving presence only people can.

The UR also reminds us that the church isnt a building or a meeting place. Its ordinary people who have been touched by God and are now doing extraordinary things. Its not just pastors and teachers and leaders that God calls to change the world but each person carrying Gods presence is the church, i.e. U R the Church!

What are your services like?

Most of our services last about two hours. That does not include the prayer or fellowship time following the service. We never want to rush people from Gods presence or from hanging out afterwards.

We are contemporary, passionate worshipers of Jesus Christ; we love being in the presence of God. Through the intimacy of our worship we discover the Fathers love and power. Our relationship with Father God through Jesus Christ, calls us to worship Him with all our heart, soul, strength and mind, not just with our voice but with all that we are.

What kind of church are you?

We are a group of people that believe that God is in a good mood and therefore anyone can cultivate a rich and genuine relationship with Him. He gives wonderful gifts to us and we become His tools for redemption, restoration, and salvation in the world. We think of ourselves as Charismissional; led and empowered by Gods Spirit to change the world through His Love.

We follow a stream of revivalists that have passion to see Gods kingdom come to earth. We have developed relationships with two churches that were a catalyst for the birth of UR Ministries: Bethel Church in Redding, CA and Harvest Rock Church in Pasadena, CA. We maintain ongoing relationships with the leadership of both churches. We actively foster relationships with these churches as well as other ministries that are a part of these streams.
